 "CAESAR'S CAMP"
vue aérienne
The pre-Roman and Roman site known as "Caesar's Camp," covering a surface of 18 hectares (36 acres), is situated on the western edge of the vast Lacau plateau.

The site dominates the Rhone river valley, which constituted an important avenue of communication for the ancient civilizations of the south of Gaul.

"Caesar's Camp" was occupied over a 1000-year period and tells the history of the ancient Mediterranean communities of the region.

The systematic archeological study of this important regional site began in 1990, and will undoubtedly take many more years. This evolving site is thus all the more interesting to visit so as to better understand the history and heritage of the region.
